The time has come. I have been nominated for the Liebster Award (my first nomination EVER.)
The Liebster Award is passed down from blogger to blogger to help discover new blogs and even gain a few new friends along the way. I was nominated by the lovely Alex, over at the Berger Bungalow. She has AMAZING posts about weddings and marriage but also has some great tips and recipes for some yummy food! Just by a glance, she gives me so much inspiration for my future.
Now I am going to answer 11 questions Alex gave me for nominating 11 others.
Lets see… I am trying to learn how to play guitar, since it is a work in progress I am going to let it slide. Also, I love journaling in my bible. Doing fun little crafts is something I LOVE doing and even though it was my job, it didn’t even seem like it sense it is all I ever want to do. OH and blogging, that’s my hobby too, I ALMOST forgot about it. It might seem crazy but I hardly have any free time so it his hard to find time for ME time (as I call it.)
She is clothed with strength and dignity and she laughs with out fear of the future.
Even though I struggle with this sometimes, I still choose to let it represent me. I do not know what my future holds, but I do know that God will always be guiding me every step along the way. I know He has a plan for me, I just need to put all my trust in Him.
My family is extremely supportive of me going to college, so supportive in fact that they wanted me to update them all the time. I figured a great way to update everyone at the same time would be to create a blog about my college adventures during freshman year. Now I am a sophomore, I decided to become more of a College Lifestyle blog but I will still make updates for my family as well.
Be good at guitar. By the start of 2016, I will have my guitar for about a year, so I think is about time I start cracking down and focus more on learning how to play.
Become healthier. I am slowly working on this step but it is going to be a process. I just have to remember that hard work does pay off.
Be more studious. Last year I struggled with school. I did not fail, but I did not do as well as I wanted to. There was a few reasons why such as: bad time management and not having a proper place to study. Now, I am trying to improve and I think I am making a good effort.
Understand my faith. I have always been religious, but I want to know more. I thrive for knowing new things, so I hope by 2016 my relationship with God has grown.
I wish I could tell my self to stay confident when you tell people you want to be a teacher. I remember watching Disney Channel and hearing the quote, “If you have a job you love, you will never work a day in your life.” All I could ever see my self doing was standing at the front of a classroom with students around me SO many people tried to get me to change my mind as a kid and in high school I ended up applying to colleges with a different major. Of course now, I have made up my own mind and have a major in Education just as my elementary school self dreamed of. Most importantly, I wish every young person knows to believe in themselves, even if no one else does.
Dani Dearest– She was my roommate last year and has been so incredibly helpful with helping my transition into blogging and has the best ideas that really work. She takes so much pride into her blog and it shows that hard work does pay off.
Secret Diary of a Camp Counselor– Over the summer I spend my time being a camp counselor and now Camp Director at a Girl Scout camp. With that being said, I got very curious what experiences other people had at camp and I came upon this blog. Now not everything that this blog pertains to me, but it sure did help me out in times of need.
Surviving College- This blog is perfect for… well surviving college. It has given me so many tips for living life with out my parents watching me every step of the way.
Oh my gosh this list can go on and on: God, my family, reading, drawing, my Peer students, me time, teaching, Josh, my turtle, buffalo wings, Disneyland, Harry Potter…. I think you get the idea.
My favorite part of living in Thousand Oaks is looking up at the sky and seeing the stars. Back at home, I don’t get to see the stars because of the smog and such, so whenever I get a chance just to look up and stargaze I will. It is a great opportunity to just relax and thing about life with out many distractions.
Just today in my Career Decisions class I made my professional teaching statement.
It is my mission to not only educate and inspire but to challenge students to reach their full potential, help everyone believe in them selves and lastly, let the students teach me.
In 10 years, I hope to be making this mission statement true by having a classroom and a group of students to call my own.
That is a tough one. I would have to say… being with Josh on a nice breezy day at the beach or a taking a hike in fresh air, just a random adventure. Taking a step back from technology and spending the day with out my face glued to a screen is always a plus. Of course, I would have to instagram the perfect day, but that is the only exception. But the way to make any day perfect would be going to dinner and getting buffalo wings. Thats the way to end a perfect day.
